Situation: Starting immediately the Giles Community Hospital helipad has three helipad lights that are inoperable.
Background: When the hospital helipad lights are inoperable the helipad is able to remain open due to adequate lighting in the parking lot adjacent to the helipad.
Assessment: The helipad will remain open during the waiting period for the new lights to arrive. They are on back order for the next 4-6 weeks. The windsock lights are still operational.
Recommendation: Please contact our Communication Center at 155.385 pl 118.80 for any updates when approaching our Helipad. Early contact to the Carilion Communications Center for any updates in the status of our helipad is beneficial. The Communications Center may also be contacted at (888) 377-7628.
